The Dwarkadhish temple, also known as the Jagat Mandir and occasionally spelled Dwarakadheesh, is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Krishna, who is worshiped here by the name Dwarkadhish, or 'King of Dwarka'. The temple is located at Dwarka, Gujarat, India. The main shrine of the five storied building, supported by 72 pillars, is known as Jagat Mandir or Nija Mandir, archaeological findings suggest it to be 2,000 - 2,200 years old. The temple was enlarged in the 15th- 16th century. The Dwarkadhish Temple is a Pushtimarg temple, hence it follows the guidelines and rituals created by Vallabhacharya and Vitheleshnath.
Located along the Arabian Sea coast, the Dwarka Beach is a refreshing day out in the coastal holy site of Dwarka. Alongside beautiful lines of coral reefs, the Dwarka beach also sites some antique temples from 1100 to the 1200s. Besides a line of food stalls, there are some colourful shells and beads stalls too.
The Rukmini Devi Temple is a temple in Dwarka, 2 kilometres away from Dwarka, India. It is dedicated to Rukmini, Krishna’s chief queen. The temple is said to be 2,500 years old but in its present form it is inferred to belong to the 12th century.
Dwarka Light House In addition to all the temples and other places of worship, Dwarka also happens to have its share of forts and monuments. The Dwarka lighthouse is located three and a half kms away from the main town. This 43 meter tower was constructed in 1962 on the western most part of Saurashtra Coast called Rupen Creek. Later an RCC baffle wall was introduced in 1964 for the introduction of sound horns equipments and vibrators to work as fog signals. Even today this light house is a big landmark for sailors and one can clearly see its powerful flashes from Dwarka City in the evenings. Operational only from 4 pm to 6 pm for visitors, the splendid architectural design of this structure is a visual treat to eyes. From the top of the lighthouse, you can view a captivating, panoramic, 360-degree view of Dwarka City and the Arabian Sea.
